Our Impact

Impact That Reaches People and the Planet

Giplast Kenya is more than a recycling plant. Every kilogram processed keeps plastic out of rivers and dump sites, supports collectors and local families, and supplies manufacturers with responsible raw materials.

From Murang'a outward across five counties, we combine environmental stewardship with steady employment, education, and community partnership-proving that sustainability and economic growth can move together.

Giplast community and environmental impact

Community & Employment

Environmental sustainability and economic empowerment go hand in hand at Giplast.

Direct Employment

We employ a manager, caretaker, driver, and more than 13 workers in sorting, collection, and sales-most drawn from the Murang'a community.

Collector Livelihoods

Informal collectors and waste vendors across Murang'a, Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Embu, and Laikipia earn consistent income through our organised collection network.

Educational Hub

Schools and institutions visit our facility for guided tours on recycling, the circular economy, and environmental conservation.

Community Initiatives

We support local development-including fundraising for community infrastructure such as the area police station.

Environmental stewardship at Giplast

Protecting Kenya's Rivers, Land & Forests

Our work prevents thousands of kilograms of plastic from entering rivers, open dumps, and natural ecosystems every week.

Cleaner Rivers

Plastic is kept out of waterways across Murang'a, Kirinyaga, and surrounding counties.

Forest Conservation

Recycled plastic offers an alternative to wood-based materials, easing pressure on forests.

NEMA Compliant

Valid licences and regular environmental audits through the National Environment Management Authority.

National Recognition

Invited to national environmental exhibitions for our contribution to sustainable waste management.

Impact by the Numbers

Measurable outcomes from our recycling operations and community work.
